Can I use closet rods and shelf stiffeners together?
Yes. Press a stiffener onto the front edge of the shelf above the rod, and screw the rod's center supports to the underside of that shelf on longer runs.
What are the parts made of?
The closet rods, shelf stiffeners, file rails, mount angle, and press cap are extruded 6063-T5 aluminum. Closet rod brackets and supports are aluminum, and file rail clips are black PVC.
Are the parts sold as kits?
No. Each part is sold separately, so you order the profile, length, finish, and hardware your project needs. Each category page shows how its parts go together.
Installing and Cutting
Do I need special tools to install them?
No. Shelf stiffeners and the file rail press cap push on by hand. Closet rod brackets, center supports, and the file rail mount angle screw in place.
How do you cut aluminum rods, stiffeners, and rails?
Use a miter saw with a carbide-tipped blade rated for non-ferrous metal, cut slowly, and deburr the cut edge. Wear eye protection.
