Locking Slide Track Installation Guide
Ten phases, from measuring the opening to dropping in the doors: cut the tracks and header insert, size and cut the panels, drill the lock hole in the shoe, install the tracks and security clip, and assemble the panels.
Tools: metal-cutting saw, tape measure, drill with 1/4" and countersink bits, and a screwdriver.

Choosing a Track
Which sliding door track do I need?
Go by the panel. For 1/4" glass or acrylic, use the Locking or Economy Slide Track. For wood, MDF, or acrylic panels from 3/16" to 3/4", use the Millwork Slide Track sized to your panel thickness.
What is the difference between the Locking and Economy Slide Tracks?
Both are bypass tracks for 1/4" glass or acrylic with rollers in an aluminum shoe. The Locking Slide Track adds a keyed plunger lock, a deeper header, and ball-bearing rollers. The Economy Slide Track has no lock and costs less.
Which track works for a display case or showcase?
The Locking Slide Track, when the case holds anything worth securing. The Economy Slide Track works for unlocked cases. Both take 1/4" glass or acrylic panels up to 36" wide and 48" tall.

What comes in a sliding door track kit?
The 72" Locking Slide Track Kit has 2 shoes, a deep header, a security base, a vinyl insert, 6 ball-bearing rollers, 2 header inserts, and a lock set. The 72" Economy Slide Track Kit has 2 shoes, a header, a lower base, a vinyl insert, 6 steel rollers, and a 10-pack of door guides. The Millwork Slide Track Kit is a top and bottom track. Panels are not included.
How big can the doors be?
Locking and Economy Slide Tracks are rated for panels up to 36" wide and 48" tall each. For Millwork Slide Track sizing, contact us.
Installation
How do I install the Locking Slide Track?
Follow the Locking Slide Track Installation Guide (PDF): measure the opening, cut the tracks and panels, drill the lock hole in the shoe, install the tracks and security clip, then assemble the panels and drop them in.
How do I size glass panels for the Locking Slide Track?
Panel width = (opening width / 2) + (overlap / 2), with a 1" minimum overlap. Panel height = opening height minus 1-1/2" for installation clearance.
Cutting, Finishes, and Ordering
Can I cut the track to length?
Yes. Kits come in 72" and 144" lengths. Cut with a miter saw and a carbide-tipped blade rated for non-ferrous metal, then deburr the cut edge. Wear eye protection.
What finishes are available?
Locking and Economy Slide Tracks come in clear anodized or black anodized. The Millwork Slide Track comes in mill finish, clear anodized, or black anodized. Locks and end caps come in chrome or matte black.
