Orange Cares: Packing Comfort with Purpose for UCLA Patients
Through Orange Cares, Orange Aluminum employees assembled and delivered activity kits for patients at the UCLA Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health. Filled with creative activities, games, and notes of encouragement, the kits were intended to offer moments of comfort during a difficult time.
The effort was part of our Q2 2025 support for the Center—a cause nominated by a colleague with a personal connection to its mission.

A Personal Story Behind Our Support
Vanessa, our Purchasing Manager at the time of the initiative, nominated the UCLA Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health in memory of her grandfather, who passed away from esophageal cancer.
Her nomination gave our team a personal connection to the patients and families the Center serves. It also inspired us to think about practical ways to offer encouragement alongside our financial contribution.

Packing Comfort with Purpose: What Went Into the Kits
Before making our quarterly donation, Orange Aluminum employees came together to assemble patient activity kits. Each kit included:
-
Coloring books, crayons, and pencils.
-
Journals and puzzles.
-
Card and board games.
-
A note of encouragement.
Our team sourced supplies and packed the kits by hand, choosing items that could offer a creative outlet or a way to pass the time.
The aim was simple: give patients something thoughtful to reach for and a reminder that people in their community were thinking of them.

How Orange Cares Brings Our Team Together
Orange Cares, also known as OrangeCares, is Orange Aluminum’s quarterly charitable giving program. Our team selects nonprofit organizations, and a portion of our sales supports their work.
Employee nominations help shape where we give. Activities like packing patient comfort kits create additional opportunities for colleagues to participate and contribute their ideas, time, and attention.
For this initiative, Vanessa’s nomination became a shared effort to honor her grandfather’s memory and offer encouragement to other families.
